There’s been a spate of books written by people who have tackled the Compostela pilgrimage trail – Louise’s is a little different in that she began to observe and question the religious iconography that accompanies walkers all along the trek. She came to some startling conclusions about the way women were depicted in the imagery. Unwilling to wait out several years of knocking on publishers doors she elected to publish the book herself and has seen it become very popular.
